Scientific Name: Matthiola incana

Life Cycle: Annual

Remarks Brand new variety with antique rose coloured blooms. 50/50 single and doubles.

NOTE: This variety produces one flowering stem per plant.
Pinching is not advisable as it will terminate flowering.


Plant Height: 65cm

When: Autumn–Late Winter

Sowing Depth + Method: Cover lightly, light needed for germination.Transplant (recommended) - Sow 3mm deep into punnets, 5-6 weeks before last frost. After danger of frost has passed, harden-off plants and transplant to the field or protected structure. Direct seed - After last frost. Do not pinch plants. Succession-plant every two weeks for multiple harvests. Stock is a cool-weather crop.

Spacing: 10 -20cm

Position: Sun  

Days until Germination: 7-14 days at 18-24°C

Seed to Bloom: 90 - 100 Days

Vase Life5-10 days.

Harvest: Fresh - Harvest when ⅓–½ the florets on the stem are open.

WA Shipping Information

Christmas Order Cut Off - 10th Dec

Please Note:

  • Orders are sent weekly on a Wednesday morning, as they require a quarantine inspection on arrival.
  • Order cut off is midnight Tuesday night as long as payment is finalised. Sometimes paypal payments can take 24-48hrs to go through. This is rare. If this is the case the order will go into the following week's dispatch.
  • Please note not all seeds can be sent to WA. Seeds that cannot be sent are marked on the thumbnail or below the price on the product page. These seeds are NOT permitted to WA.
  • Unfortunately due the way our orders get to WA Quarantine we cannot send large items like accessories, books etc.
  • Unfortunately we don't offer Express Post to WA as the parcels are sent weekly and defeats the purpose of Express post. You can however choose parcel post.


Postage Costs (inc quarantine inspection fees)

Letter Post: $7.50 (No Tracking) this includes the cost of quarantine inspection.

Parcel Post: $13.90 this includes quarantine inspection fees (Parcels that contain large item accessories like trugs, herb dryers and large books are charged $16.95)

Tracking for parcel post will kick in after it has been inspected at WA quarantine and enters the mail stream. There is no tracking on letters.

Sorry we cannot offer free post to WA due to the cost of quarantine inspection fees.
