Common Name: Quandong Native Peach

Scientific Name: Santalum acuminatum

Remarks: A unique Australian native fruit, very tart in flavour and high in vitamin C. Quandong is a hemiparasitic that needs a host plant to grow and thrive. It attaches its roots to the host plant to gain nutrients and water. Native grasses, shrubs or legumes act well as hosts.

Plant Height: 2-3 meters 

Season: Spring + Autumn is best, but can be sown all year round.

Sowing Depth + Method: Soak seeds for 24 hours, or crack hard outer casing open.

Soil Temperature for Germination: 20 - 24 degrees

Spacing: 5+ meters.
