Common Name: New South Wales Waratah

Scientific Name: Telopea speciosissima

Remarks: Grows wild in the blue mountains in NSW. Large evergreen bush from the  Proteaceae family, which flowers from October to January, most commonly in deep crimson pinks flowers.

Plant Height: 4.5m

Sowing Depth + Method: Raise seedlings. Prefer sandy loam soil, are prone to fungal root rot, good drainage is a must.

When: Spring + Autumn is best, but can sow all year round.

Position: Full sun/part sun, sheltered from wind.

Days until germination: 3 – 6 weeks.
