An iconic Australian native wildflower endemic to NSW. Much sought after in the cut flower, florist industry and an absolute joy to have in the garden at home. Flowers are cream, white, grey and have a flannel like texture. Our seed is fresh and best used within 6 months. Plants can handle light frosts. Likes well draining soil. Flowers spring to autumn.
Special Seeds: These are wild harvested flannel flowers from the lovely Brooke at Waratah Farm in NSW. The seeds come with NSW National Parks certification and because they are wild fresh seeds they have a great germination rate around 60% which is good for flannel flower. The packets come with extra seeds to compensate for this. These come in a pack with smoked vermiculite to aid in the germination process. The packs come with planting instructions.

Other Notes: Can be grown in pots, but need to be very well draining pots. Take care when transplanting as flannel flower seedlings do not like having their roots disturbed, as they have a long tap root. They like damp but not too wet conditions. Seeds have had their husk removed to improve germination rates. Germination can be unreliable, hence fresh seed is best and best sown within 6mths. Seed will not germinate if temps are over 30 degrees. Please note, Australian native seeds can take longer to germinate, please be patient and do not discard too early.

Our seeds are all germination tested, with most seeds having around an 80% germination rate.
Your germination rates will depend on lots of environmental factors.
We mostly recommend raising seedlings over direct sowing.
Please note your flowers won’t always look the exactly same as our flowers in our photos, they can be different colours, shade’s and forms and that’s what makes nature so wonderful!
