Common Name: Rice Flower, also known as Ball Everlasting and Pill Flower
Scientific Name: Ozothamnus diosmifolius
Life Cycle: Perennial
Remarks: A lovely Australian native flower grown as a cut flower and dried. Usually blooms in white flowers but sometimes can be shades of pink.
NOTE: Seed is in chaff, the seeds are tiny brown oblong shape with a white tuft.
Plant Height: Small shrub up to 2 metres
When: Spring + Autumn are best, but can be sown all year round.
Sowing Depth + Method: Surface sow, place seeds on top of soil and press lightly and cover very lightly with soil.
Spacing: 2.5 metres
Position: Full Sun/ Part Shade
Days until germination: 14-28 days @ 18-22°C
