Common Name: Mountain Pepper
Scientific Name: Tasmannia lanceolata
Life Cycle: Evergreen
Remarks: Flowers in summer and pepper berries are ready to harvest in autumn. Pepper berries are ready to harvest when the berries turn black. They are extremely high in antioxidents. Does well in sub alpine climates.
Plant Height: 3 metres
When: Spring + Autumn is best, but can be sown all year round.
Sowing Depth + Method: Soak fruits overnight to then remove the seeds. The cold stratification for 28 days.
Spacing: 5 metres
Position: Shaded position
Days until germination: If you do not cold stratification germination can take 9mths. If cold stratification is done then germination should take 14-28 days.
Approx Number of Seeds: 10 seeds, supplied as fruits, each fruit contains around 10 seeds.
