Common Name: Stock Katz Cherry Blossom 

Scientific Name: Matthiola incana

Life Cycle: Annual

RemarksVersatile single-stem stock.

Long stems with 2.5-5cm, pale pink blooms. Early blooming one-cut series. Good uniformity in bloom time and stem length. 55–60% double-flowering without selection; some selection possible.

NOTE: This variety produces one flowering stem per plant.
Pinching is not advisable as it will terminate flowering.


Plant Height: Varies.

When: Autumn–Late Winter

Sowing Depth + Method: Transplant (recommended) - Sow 3mm deep into punnets, 5-6 weeks before last frost. After danger of frost has passed, harden-off plants and transplant to the field or protected structure. Direct seed - After last frost. Do not pinch plants. Succession-plant every two weeks for multiple harvests. Stock is a cool-weather crop.

Spacing: 10 -20cm

Days until Germination: 7-14 days at 18-24°C

Seed to Bloom: 90 - 100 Days

Vase Life5-10 days.

Harvest: Fresh - Harvest when ⅓–½ the florets on the stem are open.

Please Note:

  • Orders are sent weekly on a Wednesday morning, as they require a quarantine inspection on arrival.
  • Order cut off is midnight Tuesday night as long as payment is finalised. Sometimes paypal payments can take 24-48hrs to go through. This is rare. If this is the case the order will go into the following week's dispatch.
  • Please note not all seeds can be sent to WA. Seeds that cannot be sent are marked on the thumbnail or below the price on the product page. These seeds are NOT permitted to WA.
  • Orders that contain large items like hanging herb dryer, trugs and large books may be split and seeds sent separately to the accessories.
  • Unfortunately we don't offer Express Post to WA as the parcels are sent weekly and defeats the purpose of Express post. You can however choose parcel post.
