Life Cycle: Perennial 

Remarks: The flower is native to the Himalayan region and is the national flower of Bhutan.

Frost hardy annual that grows well in cooler, elevated climates. Prefers part shade, dappled light conditions. Grows best in slightly acidic, peaty, organic, well-drained but moist soil. Do not allow to dry out in spring/summer by using mulch. Do not disturb in winter when it dies back.

Can be difficult to germinate. Start seedlings in pots in a cool, shady place in early spring. Once established the Meconopsis grandis is a hardy perennial. 
Keep seeds cool prior to sowing, pre chill for 3 weeks to sowing.

When: Spring + Winter

Sewing Depth: Raise seedlings in pots then transplant. 1mm deep.
